New Innovations in High Capacity Cleaning
In today’s world, increased productivity and decreased downtime are primary concerns. From manufacturing facilities to retail stores to distribution centers, companies are facing the issue of maintaining an impeccable production environment without actually disturbing production. This means keeping the facility clean for hygienic purposes as well as to decrease clutter and debris in the workspace. So when the floors need to be cleaned or swept, the equipment being used needs to be efficient, reliable, and economical. Because such needs are not unique between separate facilities and users, there are a variety of riding and walk-behind scrubbers and sweepers on the market offered by several distributors to suit any application.
Many manufacturers place tremendous effort into developing user-friendly equipment at an economical price. In an effort to develop such equipment, TREK Cleaning Machines, a manufacturer of high-quality scrubbers and sweepers, has recently introduced a full line of industrial floor scrubbers and sweepers with a focus on increased productivity and very competitive pricing. As a manufacturer founded by industry veterans, TREK is aware of the concerns and issues that face manufacturing facilities. That’s why they designed the Torsion SUR (Stand Up Rider) Scrubber and the Radial Sweeper.
The TREK Torsion SUR is an articulated scrubber, meaning it is uniquely designed with two sections that are connected by a pivoting joint. This unique design allows the Torsion SUR TB6 scrubber to offer increased maneuverability, improved handling, and a turning freedom of 150 degrees. These features, combined with the standard-equipped, 60-gallon tanks, translate into increased productivity of up to 100%!
Because scrubbers have previously always had casters in the back, operators had to rely on their strength and abilities to maneuver the equipment without damaging the facility. The Torsion scrubbers have been uniquely designed with a four-wheel base rather than casters on the back in order to provide greater stability, increase traction, and to avoid damaging floor surfaces. The SUR offers a “total control” zone steering system with a steering wheel, which also allows for easier operation and decreased driver fatigue.
As TREK has strived to develop a scrubber that optimizes operator comfort while still achieving high productivity at an economical cost to the end-user, they have manufactured a scrubber that possesses these characteristics and more. The Torsion SUR is more maneuverable than a walk-behind scrubber but still provides the coverage and speed of any rider scrubber. The Torsion allows for 100% water pick-up in all turns and costs about 40% less than comparable models. The SUR is offered in three scrubber deck sizes of 32", 36", and 40". The optional dual cylindrical scrubbing brushes allow for debris pick-up if required. The Torsion SUR is also available with the optional Marathon chemical scrubbing technology, which meters detergent concentrate to extend scrubbing time.
On the sweeper side of the business, TREK also manufactures the Radial Sweeper, the newest innovation in high capacity cleaning. The Radial operates in conjunction with any forklift truck. Within a few minutes, the versatile Radial mounts directly to a forklift truck for quick and efficient sweeping without any additional attachments or power source requirements. This high-performing sweeper is equipped for indoor and outdoor use and can maneuver equally well in tight spaces or large areas. To empty debris, one need only raise the forks to elevate the sweeper and dump it directly into any standard dumpster.
Designed and developed by industry professionals, the TREK team has designed the Radial Sweeper with various features including a one-piece, disposable main broom that can be conveniently changed in less than 2 minutes and dual side brooms that maximize productivity by increasing the sweep path up to 60". The Radial also has a quick-change filter panel with a shaker for dust control and an extra-large hopper that holds almost 900 pounds of debris. Manufactured with rugged steel construction for long-lasting durability, the Radial picks up everything in its path from 2x4s to fine dirt, rocks, and gravel. Additionally, TREK understands the necessity of user-friendliness and comfort. That’s why the Radial has 18" pneumatic tires for a smooth, cushioned ride.
In order to maintain high productivity at cost-effective prices, customers have to make cost-effective decisions. Customers who only use a sweeper 1-1/2 hours a day, or less than 300 hours a year, don’t want to invest in a sweeper that costs $30,000 or more. It’s not profitable. When designing the Radial, the TREK team had this fact in mind. The Radial compares feature-to-feature with the finest riding sweepers on the market, but can be purchased at a cost of about 70% less than a traditional rider sweeper.
The mission of TREK Cleaning Machines is to continue to bring innovative floor cleaning equipment and technology to the market at cost-effective price points that deliver true value to the customer. With combined experience, technology, and industry knowledge, the TREK team has been and will continue to develop cutting-edge products at affordable prices in the effort to increase productivity and efficiency.
