Terex Introduces New HFT 70RS Rental Equipment Trailer
Specifically designed to meet the transportation demands of the rental industry, the new Terex® HFT 70RS Rental Equipment Trailer is ideal for transferring equipment to and from customer jobsites, and it’s a smart choice for large operations with substantial fleet transportation needs.
“This new trailer is designed to increase productivity and offer features that specifically cater to the rental industry,” said John Norton, Terex product manager. “Most rental yards carry quite a bit of low ground clearance equipment, such as slab scissors and compact utility loaders. With its low break-over angle, the HFT 70RS allows operators to drive equipment onto the trailer rather than having to winch it. Also, this trailer offers enhanced traction on the ramp, which makes it ideal for loading equipment with tires or in need of additional traction.”
Accommodating the transportation of a variety of rental equipment from site to site, the main deck on the HFT 70RS is 29 ft 5 in (8.97 m) long and 102 in (2.59 m) wide along with additional length on the 9 ft (2.74) gooseneck deck and the 10 ft (3.05 m) extended hydraulic ramp. The tail section provides ample ramp length for an easy loading slope with a total length of 14 ft 6 in (4.42 m). Specifically, the folding tail flips out and lowers to the ground and creates a 6° break-over angle, which allows a wide range of equipment to drive up the ramp and onto the main deck without using a winch. The HFT 70RS comes standard with an automatic hydraulic tail lock system and its starburst decking provides excellent traction to help efficiently move equipment on and off the trailer.
The tail section on the HFT 70RS rental trailer is designed for powerful performance with the capability to lift and carry up to 30,000 lbs (13,608 kg) of equipment, and the trailer has an overall net capacity to carry up to 70,000 lbs (31,750 kg). Two lockable toolbox compartments on the gooseneck of the HFT 70RS provide ample storage of additional tools and equipment accessories needed on the jobsite. An optional 20 hp hydraulic power unit is available in place of the toolboxes.
The Terex® HFT 70RS Rental Equipment Trailer comes with a competitive 1-3-5 limited warranty, which offers one year of electrical, three years of hydraulic and five years of structural component coverage.

PCB Introduces New Free Field ICP® Array Microphone
PCB Piezotronics (PCB®) has debuted Model 130D22, a combined ICP® free field response pre-polarized array microphone and preamplifier. The microphone is designed for measuring sound pressure levels and frequencies in the audible range, and can be used simultaneously with ICP® accelerometers to simplify test setups.
Model 130D22 also incorporates a SMB connector, which is easy to assemble, provides seamless transition for many data acquisition systems and software set-ups, and saves time when connecting multiple units, such as in a large channel array setup. When used with data acquisition systems that have 2-20 mA constant current supply, the system does not require additional power supplies. The unit has high sensitivity (45 mV/Pa), uses standard low-cost coaxial cables, and also has optional TEDS capability, which allows for ease of use, and traceability.
This acoustic test product is ideal for array set-ups (2 D Pressure Mapping, Holography); trending and frequency analysis; predictive maintenance on machinery fans, bearings and other industrial applications; white goods testing; NVH studies for automotive and aerospace,; large channel count tests; biomedical research; or general acoustic testing, where a Type 1 compliant microphone is not justifiable and the customer requires a lower cost alternative.
Model 130D22 is offered with PCB’s “Total Customer Satisfaction” policy. If for any reason, at any time, you are not satisfied with this product, you can return it for an exchange or refund. For detailed specifications, drawings, or additional information, please visit www.pcb.com.

Highly Compact, Easy-To-Maneuver EJE 120 Electric Walkie Pallet Truck
Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp. has announced the introduction of their newly re-designed 4,500 lb. capacity electric walkie truck, the EJE 120, which is well suited to the task of loading and unloading trailers, as well as for the transportation of loads over short and medium distances. Built especially for the U.S. market and designed to outperform all other electric walkies, the EJE 120 provides users with the best turning radius available at 58.7 inches (short compartment version), a 24V-150Ah industrial battery with integrated charger, Jungheinrich’s propriety AC drive motor and controller technology, a superior fork tip design, and (as optional equipment) the Pro-Trac-Link high-performance stability caster system.
A particularly short head length of 19.4 inches combined with the truck’s ability to operate with the handle in the vertical, or upright, position allows for effortless “pin-wheeling” within a truck trailer. In addition, a shorter overall length simplifies the positioning of a load on a lift gate when exiting the trailer.
The EJE’s rounded fork tip design and hardened, bulldozer-grade steel pallet entry slides ease pallet entry, while steel exit rollers ensure a smooth pallet exit.
The truck’s short head length is achieved in conjunction with an extremely compact battery compartment of only 7.19 inches which houses an industrial battery. A 30A, chassis mounted, integrated battery charger completes the EJE’s unique “all in one” package. The single, 24V-150AH industrial battery’s expected service life is up to two times longer than comparable 4-6V based battery/charger packs.
Featuring the 4,500 lb. electric walkie market’s only 24V, 3-phase AC drive motor, the EJE 120 ensures optimal energy management, while offering the benefits of longer operating times, powerful acceleration and a maximum fully loaded speed of 3.7 mph. When these two technological advantages are considered together, they translate to more pallets moved per hour than any comparable 4,500 lb. walkie available today. And since the EJE 120’s AC drive system is free of carbon brushes and directional contactors, it is virtually maintenance free. AC drive also enables the EJE 120 to respond smoothly and quickly to the operator’s commands. Smooth transitions from forward to reverse can increase the work output of the truck significantly over a full eight hour shift.
The EJE’s new control handle concept is a breakthrough in ergonomic design. Raise and lower functions on both sides of the handle operate on a single, distinct rocker switch that can be activated from almost any operating position. The design proves particularly beneficial for operators using the truck in confined spaces with the handle in the fully upright position, allowing for raise and lower functions from the rear or underside of the handle. In addition, the sealed switches are rated at IP65 for maximum moisture resistance and can withstand direct, high pressure water blasts during wash down. Additional handle features include a brake-bypass switch or crawl speed button for travel in confined spaces with the handle in the fully upright position at a reduced speed and limited-arc directional switches that shorten necessary hand movement.
Safe travel is ensured with Jungheinrich’s electronic Speed Control system which allows stepless speed control, even on gradients. On ramps, the vehicle automatically brakes to prevent rollback.
Additional features of the EJE 120 include standard metal stability bars that limit the truck’s tipping during quick maneuvers – and for the ultimate in stability, Jungheinrich’s Pro-Trac-Link stability caster system that links two load bearing casters via a torsion bar. Standard safety features include a low mounted control handle which maximizes the distance between the truck and the operator and a large, “instant reaction” emergency disconnect switch.
The EJE also offers three different battery compartments and a variety of battery options to meet almost any customer application.
